The exam saga

Man, this exam is the most eventful, ever!

Pre-exams: kept getting tired, and sianz. Half the time spent motivating myself to mug

1st day: Came extremely (relatively) early to school. Then slacked till start of the afternoon paper. Made tea using the coffee machine! It came out extremely thick, to the point of bitter...

After the paper, EU decided to help me count my minimum grades to graduate. A "minor" calculation mistake made it seem like I need at least Bs in every module in order not to fall below the graduation GPA. WTF!!! Of course I panicked big time, but EU realised he made a mistake. Final calculation shows I just need to pass my killer (to me) module, and I can graduate!!!

2nd day: Mugged at home

3rd day: 9am paper, so woke up at the unholy hour of 6am to go to school. The bus stops are packed at 8.15am! Geez, I thought I'm the only kaisu one out there.

Got to the exam venue, and saw my friend there. Hmm, why is he there? He's not taking that module.... So I went to ask him, "Why are you here?" "Because I'm supposed to be here?" "But you are only taking 1 module in this faculty!" "Yah, this module loh" Loooooong Pause.... "You mean today is the Database exam?!?" "What do you think today's module is?"

Oh shit! I had thought it's the networks paper! Arrgh, mixed up the module codes, they differ by only 1 number... Arrgh... Only choice is to do a quick QnA with my friend. Luckily I had mugged for the paper last week, in preparation for a consultation hour that week. So I kinda know most of the stuff, except the most difficult "For All" types of queries...

Finished my 2 hour paper in 1 hour 10mins, while everyone else is still furiously scribbling... Decided to furiously check/redo my paper. Damn, either I know everything, or I'm so terrible that I missed out all the difficulties in the paper... Arrgh!!!

4th day: Went for the paper I thought was on yesterday. Scribbled like mad this time, and kept getting confused by my lecturer's questions.

"Check if the following statements are correct/accurate, and rectify them if they are not". Eh? Do you mean I rewrite the statement? Or I explain the error?!? Asked him, and his response is a vague "Explanations are good, but a correct statement is good too". Huh?!?!? Damn, so I wrote both.

"Multimedia compression is important because it increases the speed of a dial-up connection" Huh? So do you mean the user's perceived speed due to faster download time? Or do you mean the throughput speed?!? And again his answer is a vague "what do you think"... Geez...

The rest of the day/night is spent finishing my Physics help sheet aka cheat sheet. I have never written with such a small handwriting before; this help sheet makes my handwriting on my previous help sheets look positively ENORMOUS! Writing with such a small handwriting takes a lot of time: this help sheet had taken me around 2 weeks!

5th day (Last day!): Killer module day! I think I did okay. And interestingly, a baby cockroach flew/dropped down onto my desk, scrambled to the groove at the top (the one for pencils), and hid in the section which is covered by my formula booklet. Geez... It's still there when the paper ended... Wtf! I'm so proud of myself for not freaking out at the cockroach... Smiling

Post-exam: Went with Nixxy and his friend to a curry house at Stamford House (City Hall). The vegetable curry is good, but I think it has beef stock. Not sure... Nixxy and friend liked their meat curry too.

Then we went to Funan. Bought a hand cranked paper shredder there!

Then we went to Sim Lim Square to drink tea and help Nixxy get the latest price list. What else do you expect geeks to do when they celebrate the end of exams??? Hmm, Nixxy's exams are not over though...

Finally, I went back to school, because Mr Alien Cat drove to school, and he is willing to help me bring all my textbooks (stack almost a meter high!) back. Yeah! So, I've cleared out everything in school! Smiling

So, there goes my 5 days exam saga. Very eventful, right? Laughing out loud
